Soon after she was born in Nanaimo BC Linda moved with her family to Kelowna where she spent her childhood growing up with four of her six sisters. At age 24 Linda married Dennis Zahara of Kelowna, BC. In 1978 Linda and Dennis  had two baby's born in that same year: Jenny, born in Victoria and Peter born in Kelowna. Linda raised her babys  and eventually got a job at the Hudson's Bay company where she worked for the next 11 years. Linda was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1979 but still managed to raise her two children, work five days a week at the Hudson Bay and look after many cats and dogs that were aquired as pets over the years. Linda had many close friends and was an active member of the Bay Beaver Club and Dee's Dolly's, an MS support group of ladies who got together during MS functions and fundraisers. Linda has finally succumbed to this terrible disease after battling it for so long and so hard. She lived with the disease for over 41 years, the last 18 of which she lived in Cottonwoods Extended Care since January 2002.  Linda will be missed by many of the staff and residents that have gotten to know her over the many years she has spent with them. Linda will be forever remembered for her kindness, grace and beautiful smile. May she finally rest in peace.
