Our beloved Karen passed away on March 3, 2022 at the age of 61 after a three year cancer journey. Karen was a loving wife and mother. She was a dedicated volunteer and community-builder, grape-grower, and a respected professional consultant. Karen was predeceased by her mother Lynda. She will be greatly missed by her husband Craig, daughters Corinne and Jessica, father Blair (Susan), sister Janet (Dean), brother-in-law Glenn (Rosemond), step-siblings Dan (Allana) and Katie (Matt), nieces and nephews, and numerous dear friends and extended family.

Karen had a successful 43 year career in the investment industry, including her own securities consulting business. Karen and Craig settled in Naramata in 1998 and were quickly embraced by the community. She tended her Merlot vineyard for fifteen harvests, sang with the Naramata Community Choir for 20 years, served on the PAC Executive at two schools, and served on the boards of the Naramata Centre and the Naramata Community Church. Karen saw challenges as opportunities, strangers as friends she hadn’t met yet, and every day as a blessing. She loved Scrabble, singing, and the quest for a perfect gluten-free pie crust recipe.

We will cherish our memories of Karen. We will embrace life and enjoy time with family and friends, living by her example.  A Celebration of Life is tentatively planned for Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Naramata Centre. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Naramata Community Church or your favourite charity. We would like to offer our gratitude to Dr. Louw, Dr. Main, Dr. Ross, Dr. Thompson, Dr. Andrew, and the incredible nurses and staff at Penticton Hospital Oncology and Moog & Friends Hospice House.
