Anna Torkel of Penticton, BC, beloved wife of the late Horst Torkel, passed away peacefully, on November 20, 2021, at the age of 84 years, after a lengthy illness. Anna was born in the Ukraine April 10, 1937. She moved to Germany in 1952, then immigrating to Canada in 1955, where Horst and Anna married on March 16, 1957. They moved to the McNally School area, in the County of Lethbridge, in 1961, where they raised their children and where she lovingly spent time with her granddaughters. Anna moved to Penticton in 2017. Anna is known for her crocheting, needle point, sewing, gardening, and cooking. Anna is survived by her daughter Irene Torkel (David Finchfield), sons Brian and Ralph Torkel, grandchildren Whitney Wood and Desiree Torkel-Finchfield. Besides her loving husband Horst, Anna was predeceased by her parents Martin and Luba Kutzner, siblings Gerhardt, Wilhelmine (Nina), Felix and Waldimar and infant brother.
